WANT TO REALLY SELL YOUR TRAINING? THE ROI OF A GOOD CASE STUDY

If you're selling just about anything to customers, the very least they will want to know before they consider buying is if it actually "works" or not.  Yet, when it comes to training, many organizations just buy training and then "hope" it works.   That's why if you're a training vendor or provider, the best way to catapult yourself ahead of your competition is to give your potential clients a simple but effective 6-level case study proving how your training actually works.  In fact, did you know that a solid case study could improve your marketing and sales by 420%...

TRAINING IS A TREACHEROUS JOURNEY

But measuring each step carefully along the way can enable you to reach your destination safely. Finding a solid path from the training event all the way to the final destination (business impact and ROI) will make any initiative successful. Each employee must be able to make this treacherous journey on his or her own, but as training architects and evaluators, we can do three things to help them along the way. We can create a clear and smooth path to their destination, and we can build strong support pillars for them to step on so nothing crumbles under their feet. Then, we can build them a bridge.
Read my article in Training Industry April 2019 to find out how to build that bridge..

IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER APPLE

We all know the story of Sir Isaac Newton: He’s hit in the head with an apple, and it launches all of his world-changing thoughts, theories and laws.

But did he really invent anything new? Did he create something or cause anything new to happen? It all existed already. We all experience gravity, motion and physics every day. We all could have predicted the apple was going to hit the ground. What made him uniquely different was that he saw an urgency to measure it.

What are the different forces at work? What are the amounts of those forces? How do they all fit together? How does one event validly and reliably predict that something else will happen? How much of it can we truly measure?

MEASURE UP OR SHUT DOWN

Why would anyone invest in training if you can't promise them benefits?
And how can you show them benefits if you don't know how to measure them?
And if you show no benefits, then all you are is a cost.

Too many business leaders think of HR training groups as costs because they never see the solid, proven benefits months after the training.  Here's an article I wrote for Training Industry on how and why you need to prove the value of training...
